The Daily Prophet

The Daily Prophet was founded in 1660 as an unbiased source of all the news affecting the international wizarding world. Subscription costs one knut, and as a mark of goodwill, all students and faculty currently in-residence at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry receive a free copy. Its current editor-in-chief, Hortensio Hoodwinkle, is adamant that the Prophet remains absolutely truthful in its depictions of unfolding social struggles despite accusations of it printing inflated articles designed to sell papers. Its current media darling is one Rita Skeeter, who is fresh on the scene as being one of the most incisive and entertaining young reporters out there.

Reoccurring Articles/Sections include: "Good News", "Bad News", "Forecast", "Potions", "Magic Lottery", "E. Limus" "Astro News", "Spells", "International", "Abracadabra", "Hocus-Pocus", "Politics", "Ministry of Magic Affairs", "Sports", "Games", "Magic News", "Comment & Advice", "Arts & Warts", "Tricks & Trucks", "Opinion", "Puzzles", "Kids Corner", "Black Magic", "Pink Magic", "Tragedies", "Jobs", "Showizbiz", "Health", "Fitness", "Obituaries", "Classified Advertisements", "Fiendishly Difficult Crossword", "Blablabla", "Ask D. Shaman"
