Rules

Rule 1: Don't be an idiot.
Rule 2: Don't be a bitch.

If you break a rule, we will hire someone in your hometown to kick your ass.

Okay, so no...those aren't REALLY the rules. Unfortunately, even the very best group of RPers needs slightly more defined guidelines. Also, we can't afford to have players' asses kicked that frequently.

If it's not covered in the rules and the last rule has failed to give you the proper direction to go in (as it sometimes will), ask a mod. We're more than happy to answer any questions you've got, and we're always just an email or an IM away!

NO GODMODDING!
You can't decide what anybody's characters do but yours.
OOC DOES NOT EQUAL IC!
Remember that you are playing a character and not yourself. Keep your personal opinions out of your character interactions, and remember that your character doesn't know everything you know.
IC DOES NOT EQUAL OOC!
That means that if bad things happen to your character, don't take it personally, and if people don't like your character it doesn't mean they don't like you.
IC DOES EQUAL IC!
If your character does something in the game, expect the same logical consequences that would operate in the real world to operate in this world as well. IC actions will always result in IC consequences, no matter how much you or your character might regret said actions -- just like in real life.
BUT, SERIOUSLY. DON'T BE A BITCH!
Remember that this is a game. It is not your job. It is not your school. It is not your family. It is not anything in this world that is actually important. It's not worth getting upset over, or making someone else upset. Take a minute and think before you say whatever angry thing might cross your mind someday.
POSTING GUIDELINES!
JOURNALS: The internet is around, but this is the wizarding world and journals. Therefore, please refrain from any LOLs or OMGs or other such netspeak. That also goes for :) and ;) and :D and, well, you get the idea.

LOGS / THREADS: Threading through AIM and Google Docs is highly encouraged, as is posting completed logs over comment threads in the game community. Please post logs/threads with something akin to Who, What, When, Where & Rating.

TAGGING: Tagging in the main community is a easy means by which to keep track of all logs a character is involved in, as well as acting as an easy reference for the game's timeline. You can select applicable tags to an entry posted in the game by choosing the 'Edit Tags' icon at the top of the post. This will take you to a list of approved tags for the community. Tags are limited to character, date, media, and medium.
NO PB CHANGES!
Pick the one you want at the beginning and stick with him/her. Unless there is some vastly compelling reason why you must change...you'll probably be told no. If you have such a vastly compelling reason, though, feel free to approach a mod about it.
MOD'S DECISION = LAW!
We are not unreasonable people. In fact, we're actually pretty fond of logic and we don't bite. If you have a plot idea or there's something that you really want to have done, just come to one of us. We would love to hear your idea, but we can't promise that it will be implemented. What we can promise, however, is that we will discuss it and try to figure out if it will fit with the overall plot of the game. If we say no it is not because we don't like you but because we don't think it will work with the game. We ask, though, that you trust us and don't raise any sort of stink. This goes for anything that the mods do. We aren't looking to be dictators of our own little island - no. We are doing everything we can to make this game grow and thrive and any decision we make is to do that.
USE THE SENSE THAT THE POWERS THAT BE BESTOWED UPON YOU!
